The grade of stainless steel used in the coils is indicated by the prefix "304" in the name. The austenitic stainless steel 304 has excellent mechanical qualities and a high level of corrosion resistance. Due to its 18% chromium and 8% nickel content, stainless steel is frequently referred to as "18/8" steel.
Coils made of stainless steel 304 are available in a range of dimensions and thicknesses, and they can be tailored to meet particular needs. They are commonly offered in thicknesses of 0.002 inch to 0.25 inch and widths of 1/4 inch to 60 inches. Depending on the use, the coils can be delivered either annealed or tempered.
